LEWISTON, Idaho - After weeks without any word from Sheriff Jim Dorion vacant, Nez Perce County commissioners have voted to declare his office vacant.

It appears Nez Perce County Sheriff Jim Dorion is out of a job. On May 1 Dorion, through his attorney, told the public he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Nez Perce County commissioners will vote Monday on whether to declare the sheriff's post vacant, since they apparently haven't been able to reach Sheriff Jim Dorion for weeks.
